Happy Birthday Grandpa Lilya!

We went on Sat Nov. 14th to Grandpa and Grandma Lilya's house to celebrate Grandpa's Birthday. It was fun to get together with cousins and their families and visit. The hit of the party was the train. Grandpa, Uncle Claudon and Rod had made for the kids to ride in. Some parents rode in it too. Here are some pictures.

More Family Pics

Here are some more. Unfortunately she was unable to get the whole family staring at the camera at once. But she did such a great job. Thank you, Rita?

Family Pictures.

Rita came out last Friday with Russell, Cassie and Maggie. She went with us to Hooper Springs Park where is was very cold. Sorry about that. She did a great job of pictures. Let me show you.

First Day of 1st Grade.

Mikatie started Thatcher Elementary Wednesday. It is about 20 minutes from Grace going South. She gets to ride the bus which was always fun in kindergarten, but she said was boring the first day of school. The bus picks her up by the garage at 0655am and drops her off at 1640(640pm). Her Teacher is Mrs. White, whom she likes a lot. She was nervous about not knowing anyone, but found several of the kids from kindergarten in her class. I can't believe how fast time flies. Alex will start preschool on Wednesday. He is excited and nervous.

Time Passing

I can't believe it has been 2 months since I last blogged. Time just seems to race by.
Mike is done in the potatoes and has moved on to fixing fences in Wayan. He is getting eaten by the bugs. Soon he will be in a swather cutting hay. He took a day off and we camped at Indian Hot Springs Sunday night and Spent the day on Monday with the family. It was a lot of fun to see everyone.
Mikatie had her last day of Kindergarten Yesterday. I can't believe I have a first grader now. We will learn sometime whether she will go to Thatcher Elementary School or Grace. I have heard that the kids that live in Grace have to go to Thatcher. We will see. She loves to play at the park and at friends houses. She is growing fast and wants to do everything see can.
Alex is growing and trying to keep up with his sister. He loves to play and go to the park too.
We are working on getting him ready for school in 2 yrs. He is a momma's boy and we are working on getting him to sit with his class in Primary and not on mommies lap.
I'm still working at the hospital. This month has been real busy but now we are getting slower. I Love working in the primary. It is fun to see the kids learn and grow. I need to get busy and get my to do list done. I have yet to plant my garden and need to clean the van and paint the house. I'm looking forward to sunny days. I loved the rain too.

All is well in Grace.

Hey everyone.
Just wanted to update. We are all doing well. Mike is working in the potato again, getting the spuds out of the cellars and sent to the farmers to plant. He is enjoying what little snow is left to snowmobile on. It snowed today so there will be more in the mountains. The other night he went for a short ride and was suppose to be home at 8pm. I guess they fell in a ditch and they didn't make it home till 11pm. I guess they were wondering if they were going to have to spend the night. Glad they made it out.

Mikatie is growing and growing. She has lost 3 teeth but as soon as they fall out the new ones poke up through the gum. She is reading which she tells me is boring. I have never felt that way so we struggle to get her books read 4 times. She likes for me to read to her but hates reading herself although she is good at sounding words out. She has a friend in her kindergarten class that lives a block away. She has had fun going to her house to play. She had lots of fun having her cousins come and spend the night. Thanks Nich and Rita for letting them stay the night and go to church with us.

Alex is growing and learning. He tries to keep up with his sister, but gets left behind often. He is quite content to play by himself . He is learning his colors. We will start to work on shapes soon. He thank goodness is not the daredevil his sister and Dad are. He enjoys spending time with just mom when Mikatie is off to kindergarten.

I'm still working at the icu in the hospital. It will be interesting to see what changes come with Legacy. I enjoy spending time with my little family and am excited to get out in the garden and yard. Love to all. Hope to hear that Maggie and Mom are feeling better. Love to all.

A Long Week

My week started out ok. Sunday after church I got a called from Brother Washburn asking me to speak in Sacrament meeting the following Sunday. I said yes and quickly called Dad and Mom to see if they would be able to help Mike with the kids. Mom said it was her ward conference and she needed to conduct but they would see what they could do and get back to me. Monday, Mikatie had the day off from school for President's Day. I had scheduled our taxes to be done. So we were getting ready to go to Pocatello as soon as Mike finished feeding the cows. Janel Williams called and asked if Mikatie could come over and play with Adele. I told her that would be fine and we would pick her up when we were leaving for Pocky. Mikatie didn't want to go with us and Janel and Cameron said it would be fine for her to stay with them. Mike and Alex and I drove to Pocatello. We had our taxes done. We then went to Party Palace and helped Alex make a Bison. We had made a bunny at build a Bear in Iowa with Mom and Dad for Mikatie. So Alex wanted his own. We then did a few more erronds and then went to get Mikatie. We all went into William's house and were invited to eat Pizza with them. It was a fun evening. Thank you Janel and Cameron. Tuesday I went to work and when I picked
Alex up from Jamie's she said he acted like he wasn't feeling well and had a tempeture. He had had a runny nose so I just assumed it was allergies. Wednesday at 230am Alex came in to our room and got into bed with us. He was so hot to touch that it hurt me to touch him. I called work and said I had a sick kid and gave him some Motrin and went back to bed. He slept till 11:15 then took a long nap later that day. Thursday, Coleen Benson borrowed the van, so I stayed home and studied for PALS (Pediatric Advanced Lifesupport) and tried to work on my talk and Primary Lesson. Thursday-Friday morning Alex still had a high temp and I had 1 1/2 hours of sleep so I went to my class and just turned in the books and told them I would have to take the class at a later date. Then took Alex to the Doctor. He told me it was just a virus and to give him Tylenol and Motrin. When I got home Mikatie had gone to Karine's house and didn't want to come home. Alex and I were resting on the bed when the doorbell rang. It was a Mother of one of Mikatie's classmates wanting to know if Mikatie could come over on Saturday and play with Ashley. It was a great help and an answer to my prayers. Saturday, the Peds clinic called to say that Alex had Strep throat and needed an Antibotic. We got him started on it. When Ashley's mom came to pick up Mikatie I gave her the option of not taking Mikatie cause she had been exposed to Strep but she took her anyways and had her from 10am till 2 pm. Sunday, Mom and Dad came early so we got to visit longer. Thank you for the help! Nich and Crystal sat by Mom and Dad and helped with Mikatie. Thank you! Alex fell asleep in Dad then Mom's arms. I think I did ok on my talk. It was on Self Reliance in the March Ensign. I encourage all to read it. I'm trying to be more self reliant and get back to doing things for my self and not rely on the instant and quick things so I can avoid being a "Gulliable Gull". I'm very thankful to my Heavenly Father for helping me through this week. Thank you everyone who help me survive. Mikatie also pulled her top Left tooth. She has only one left in the front. She looks cute with the missing teeth. The bottom ones are growing in. Well enough,

This is my sixth picture in my sixth folder. It is one of Mikatie, we had taken her out to Gray's Lake and the Misquitos just loved her. She looks like she had chicken pox or measles. No matter what I put on her to keep them away they still attacked her. Luckily she really didn't scratch any of them.

The touch of a Master's hand

Two frantic calls and then a get up and rush in. They did such a great job it is hard to tell that it wasn't planned. She has a few spots that are shorter and blended in but they did one GREAT job.

SURPRISE!

On the way home from work last night, Mike called to inform me that while he was in the shower, Mikatie had decided she had waited long enough for a haircut. This the results. Hopefully someone can fix it today. There was little I could do at 930 at night but cry. As you can see she is not happy with the results and hopefully won't try to do this again. Hopefully soon we can
Have a real cute after picture when we can find someone who
can fix this. I know it is just hair and will grow back but she
might be real short for awhile.

Happy Birthday Mikatie!

Well time really does fly. I can't believe we have had our little girl for 6 yrs now. She isn't little anymore but she is still my girl. She had a fun day with fruit treats at Kindergarten. Then she had three friends over to play after school and then all the family together at 6:30 pm for pizza and cake. She is learning and growing so fast. I can't believe that in 2 yrs she will be old enough to be baptized. Where does the time go. Thank you to all that made her day special and for all the presents and just being there to celebrate her day with her. Thank you.

Happy New Year!

Out with the old and in with the new. My December month was a little frustrating. My printer quit printing blues; which was a great big frustration since I was trying to print pictures for Christmas presents. I spent hours on line with the HP represenative and still couldn't get it to work. Martin looked at it for me and it still doesn't work. Even after buying about 8o dollars worth of ink it still doesn't work. Then my computer wouldn't start up. So it went to Martin's and he fixed it. Then my dryer stopped working. After pulling it apart we figured it was wires sparking. We are so blessed. The house could have burnt down. Thanks to Martin for going to Tuckers for me and getting the part we need. Mike finally fixed the dryer after the New Year. For awhile I hauled clothes downstairs and hung them on a homemade clothes line in the basement to dry. The kids loved the tent made my the sheets drying. I am glad to finally have a dryer to dry the clothes.
We had a fun day sledding down the hill at McGregor's hill. I was suprised to see Mikatie and Alex just jump on the sleds and go down by themselves as last year I had to go with each of them. We spent hours sliding down and being pulled back up the hill by Cameron and Janel on their snowmachine. Thanks for the fun day. We then went home, changed and went to Brian and Becky Jorgensen's for New Years Eve. We ate played the wii and then played games till I had to call an end to the evening at 10pm so that I could get some sleep before going to work the next day. Sorry. Mike and the kids were not ready to go, but I needed some sleep. It was a fun time for all.
